Listen, right now I just need a simple straightforward answer. I'm trying to send in my java program through e-mail (requirement) to my teacher, and when I try it, it attaches and sends. But, I carbon copied it to myself, only to find it attaches it as a text document. THe file extension is .java and no .txt in sight. Is there something you know I should do?

I know from school I don't have this problem sending my java files, but I've tried 3 of the 6 computers in my home. I'm going to try it on two others, but I don't expect different results.

How do I know its not attached properly? When I go to view the message, if its a text attachment, it just shows it at the bottom. Whenever its attached the correct way, it shows a link to download Program.java or whatever.

Mods: I know this is the second java thread I've had in OT, but this is a tough class, atleast the simple parts are. Oh yeah, he won't grade it if its not attached the correct way either, which I know for a fact because the day before its due he prints a list of who's he has received and I know that the list didn't check me off for an attachment. TIA

Its .java right now. Why won't this work from home? I've tried Opera and Internet Explorer

I went through the pain of getting an account somewhere else and configuring it the exact way he wants.... so, for now it is fixed, but I will need a permanent solution to this

change the default editor for .java files? You can read it as txt file since you have notepad as default editor?
