Thanks in advance for helping out.

Alright, I was installing my HSF onto my A64 (3200+) with some AS5, however I think I put too much on. The AS5 Instruction page online said only a 3/4 size of a BB amount to put onto the IHS, but I put more like a BB and a half on it. So, I pulled the HSF back off to check the spread and it is covering about the size of a quarter. My question is...how do I know if the spread is too thick or not? Furthermore, if it is too thick, will 70% isopropyl be alright to clean it off with and start over?😕

Hmm, alright...if it is hypothetically too thick, will that cause an unseemly rise in temperatures?

Oh yeah, thanks for the reply. 😉

That will work to clean it off.

It's somewhat difficult to put too much TIM on (within reason), because the pressure of today's HSF clamping force will make sure too much can't stay in between the HSF, and CPU.
