Which GPU makes games look better (i.e.quake,RTCW,unreal)? Is it the GeForce 3 or Radeon 8500? I'm having problems deciding between the two.
 
Well, that is totally subjective, personally I love my GF3. you can see a image comparison article here that Anand did a little while back.
 
It's a matter of opinion, some people prefer the radeon's 3D, and some prefer the GF3's 3D....there is no commonly accepted opinion.
The majority of people tend to agree the Radeon has superior FSAA, and 2D visual quality though.
 
I can pick up a Radeon 8500LE for about the same price as a GeForce 3 TI200, since the 8500LE is clocked at only 230MHZ does it make this card still good? What else differs from this card and the retail 8500? Would it be better to get the 8500LE instead of the Geforce 3 TI200?
 
The 8500LE clocks in at 250/250 or 230/230 depending upon the manufacturer, most of them are 250/250. Even at such a clockspeed it is clearly faster then a GF3 Ti200.

The AIW Radeon 8500DV manages to match a GF3 Ti200 and it is clocked significantly lower then any other R8500.
