Higher contrast ratio I believe = better.

Lower response time = better.


Since these kinds of numbers often don't reflect the monitor's true performance, use response time only as a starting point for looking, and then read more in-depth reviews on displays you find.

Both are important.

I'd say anything with 16ms or lower is fine for games, & 450:1 contrast or higher is good, but each monitor will show the differences in a unique way.

I always recommend actually looking at the monitor in stores rather than just buying online to get a better idea of what one is getting.
