So I have an VNF4 chaintech MoBo. Computer no longer turns on. Looked through the manual, no LED or beep codes in it. Looked at their website no codes turned up.

So here goes:
No beeps.
HD light on
Power light flashing

No post. Tired an S3 Virge (yes that old) PCI card (no agp slots) and my LCD hooked via analog to try and check the video card went bad.

HD spin up. Fans spin.

Anyone know what those combo of lights mean? Multiple people post please so that I know where I have to waste money.

Thanks for your help in advance.

I have the Chaintech VFN4.

The HD light always flashes if the computer is turned on. When there is HD activity it flashes much brighter, or stays lit until the end of HDD activity.

The power LED is always lit when turned on.

You cannot diagnose your problem by these lights.

Sorry, I don't have any further advice. Maybe try to contact Chaintech, or go to Tom's Hardware guide which has a Chaintech forum under motherboards.

Quick stab in the dark- try flipping your PSU switch (on the back of the PSU) off for 5+ seconds and then back on again. I was having some issues with mine starting up and that seemed to cure it.(Had to do it everytime though until I switched PSU's).

No I definately tried a hard hard reset with the power from the caps drained. Its not a minor glitch, I guess without beep codes there is nothing to know. I presume it is the MoBo, but cannot know for sure. I assumed that perhaps the flashing light was indicative of something like could not read Flash or something.

You miss understood the HD is solid on and the power is flashing. Yes HD lights turn on on post but only for a moment and then on reads as a rule.
