Quick CDR/CDRW question...

I have a 1999 model car, and the cd player in it doesnt seem to want to play any of the burned music CDs I create from my vast collection of Audio CDs. Is there any specific CDR/CDRW make that works well with older CD players?

The current batch I was using to burn, were Imation 1x-48x CDRs.
Thanks in advance,

I don't think your car cd-player will be able to recognize the cdrws since they were a relatively new and expensive technology back then.

Perhaps the burns aren't dark enough for your player to recognize?

My suggestion would be to buy a car kit for a cd player

No necessarily true, my 1998 Nissan 200sx can play CDRs, and so did my 1989 Nissan Maxima (although it was VERY picky). Both players were stock 😉

I've tried the newer versions of Sony Discs in the past their 1x-32x pack of 50, I can play the songs but cannot select them in any specific order. I have to play them from song 1 to song 15 in that order....otherwise if I try to go right to song 12 from the begining, the CDplayer sits and just sounds like its searching forever.

EDIT: I think it might have to do with the thickness of the CDs used. The one pack of Older Imation CDs seem thicker than the newer CDRs I use currently.

Maybe its time for a newer aftermarket player...
