Quick case fan installation question

I have a CM590 + Noctua NF-S12 1200 + Nexus D12SL-12.

They both come w/ the rubber screws.

I'm putting the Noctua on the side panel (lower slot), how do I install the rubber screws?

From the inside of the panel, through the fan, to the outside. Or from the outside of the panel, through the fan, ending on the inside?

Same would apply for the Nexus going on the top back hole of the case. Screws go from outside the panel --> in? Or from the inside of the panel --> out?

Tnx!

If you look at the rubber pin, you'll see a thin groove near the base for the case metal, then a thicker ring for spacing the fan out from the metal a bit and then a wider groove for the fan frame. Put it thru whichever way works best in your application but generally you want the case metal in its groove first. Some cases don't have properly drilled holes, so you may have to wing it. I've done things like putting a washer in the case metal groove and worked up from there. It can be "interesting" either way.
