Quick ?? Are there different types of P3 CPU's for M.P motherboards like there are for AMD??

Like the title says.. Do I need a special PIII Chip for my multi CPU PIII motherboard?

If it is a socket 370 type Pentium III, there is no special requirement if they are Coppermines. For Tualatins, you need to purchase a Pentium III-S.

All Slot 1 type Pentium IIIs are SMP capable, except cA0 stepping Coppermines.

Yes... you can use Coppermines, or Tualatin-S (512kb L2). The latter requires a board designed for the Tualatin-S. What board do you have?

Also, it is generally desired to use matched steppings. I've heard that some OS's won't install if the steppings are more than one stepping different from eachother, and I think most of the Coppermines are available in three different steppings.
