hey guys,
i have an asus a7v. i know that its 3.3v agp. right now i have a voodoo 3/3500 in it. what is the newest card i can use on this board, probably a voodoo 5/5500? i am not quite ready to give up my old trusty machine yet.🙂
Generally most 4x agp cards will have no problem in that board. The problem occurs when people put the 3.3volt cards in some of the newer 1.5volt agp motherboards. I have recently installed a Radeon 9000 in an old P3 500 machine, no problems.
To my understanding any card that works at 1/2/4x will work and any card that even works at 4/8x because they can each work with the 4x interface and thats what the A7V has (the 266A or 333 chipset regardless) So you could technically put a 9800XT in there i believe.
