1) My cs ping is really high, after i cleaned out its fan, don';t know if that had anything to do with it, i my fps droped alo, used to be in the 60s now its in the 10s to 20s...

2) i going to get video card, and my machine only has a PCI slot not pci-e or agp, and i would to ask which card would be the best for a pci?? Geforce FX 5500, is one i found and Radeon 9250 as well which is better, or is there better pci??

Um... and the 9250 is just a souped-up 9000, which is worse than a GF4 as well. :p

Someone put out a GF6200 PCI; I haven't seen benches, but that may be your best bet. Aside from that, there are some GF5700 cards out there, and you may be able to find a used RADEON 8500 or RADEON 9100 (the 9100 is *completely different* from and much faster than the 9000 and 9200 lines... don't ask).

Uh... which fan? And screwing with your fan probably has nothing to do with your lower performance (unless you broke your CPU HSF and your CPU is overheating and thermally throttling itself).

Well, if you play mainly Hl2 games, Radeons in general score higher points, but it really depends on the card.

You'll be fine with either. =p

what they are saying is HL is optimized for ATI. We're not saying it won't run fine on a Nvidia, were just saying it's optimized for ATI, so more bang for buck. As much as I hate to say it *cough*imanvidiafanboi*cough*, for what you play, you should get the ATI.

Isn't HL1 based off of Quake2? Wasn't nVidia the only card to get during those days? ATi for HL2 for sure, but I don't think you guys know what you're talking about.

Dude, it's okay to be a nVidia fanboy... I'll admit I like the 6800GT more than the x800xt and the 7800GT more than the x1800xl. However, even I have to make my sacrifices, I play DODS more than anything else, so therefore I'm getting a x850xt as my next card.

Though Far Cry is an nVidia card, :'(.
