Here is Anand's own battery life test for the Macbook Pro. It uses a 50watt-hour battery and lasts 5 hours. That is a power draw of 10 watts. Last time I checked the Macbook Pro has an LCD screen. It also uses a regular core 2 duo last time I checked.

I'm pretty sure the reason the MacBook Pro has an LED backlit LCD screen. Those screens use less power than normal LCD screens.

Macbooks also have that nifty screen-dimming that they use after a short time. Windows7 has it too, but it doesn't work all the time (like with my GMA950 netbook - the screen just flashes black and doesn't dim at all).

Lets even shrink that number for ya.
Your cpu can not be less then 5-7W on idle(which i doubt), that means u must have a super tiny LCD screen for it be only generating 10W.

Sorry Aigo, i'm calling shens on that article because I think the 20+W rating on a laptop HDD is quite excessive. I don't think they either know what they are measuring or thay's an OLD ass inefficient laptop.

take either or, however im still saying that his LCD alone would draw 17W.

17W on sleep with LCD off, i can believe, not with LCD on with windows desktop.
