KidViciou$,

I have had my decks for about seven years but trying to keep up with a good selection of records and getting stuck in a job that gave me no time and not enough money I am just now getting back into it.

What do you like to spin? What kind of decks and mixer do you use?

I use the Technics SL1210-mkIIs and this is the mixer I just bought http://www.synthony.com/Products/DJ2000.html

i own a pair of 1200 mk2. its been so long that im not even sure if that is the correct model number, basically, the 1200 US version in black.

i also have a matching technics mixer

SIKE, i use a numark mixer, 1001x. i used to own the 1490 or something like that, a 19 inch mixer, but got rid of it cause of the size. i spin hiphop, go-go, local club, and i try ot mess with house

Numark!eeeewwwww!!!!!

I never had any good luck with those things or the MTXs when the guy from Numark helped "improve" their product.

The best I have used are Geminis and my Roland.

I admit the Geminis are not top of the line but I have used Stanton, Numark, MTX, Vestax, Rane, Gemini, Pioneer and Roland. The Roland I bought is the only one that did everything I wanted it to the way I wanted it to.So what do you find so bad about the Roland I linked to? I am interested in an honest opinion.

truthfully, i have never had hands on with roland, its just that my friends have used them before, and i admit that they might be good for doing mixing or studio stuff, but not hardcore scratching. whenever i talk about djing, i mean turntabling, and sometimes doing parties or club stuff.

I do scratch.I may not be the best at it but I still need more practice.I like the fader on it as well as the fact that it has transformer buttons(and they work the way I like). Throw in the DSP effects and the sampler and midi controls and I have the ability to do so much more. The build qaulity is also very good.

You can burn your own records in a way. They have a needle that you attach to the 1200's and you can cut your own records. I think qbert was saying something about it, maybe it was kid koala.

k, i've seen i decent dpm matching, dsp plugin for win amp, which can run with dual snd cards, but again a pc distances you from the crow. of course, if you built a serious dj-pc with a dual proc and 2 sick ridicoulous vid cards, and 2 21in mon over your main speaks, you could have it pump some nice visualization to the auxiliray monitors, thus some crowd connection, but from my expierience withsome of winamps nicer visualizers you'd need a really cranked vid card to pump it out nice to a mon, or... a projector rig, people could dance in the projection of the visualization. . . ..
