How does this game compare to the original COD 4 Modern Warfare multiplayer?

I want to know the pro and con is and what is the same and what is different from that game?

I have about 4 hours so far in Black Ops 3 but the whole game is completely different. You have wall-running, sliding, specialists, and a much faster pace than what I remember. Perks aren't the same as far as I can tell and there also doesn't seem to be as many guns. The whole interface doesn't really tell you what the next tier off item you will unlock.

As for customization of your specialist, I thought it was cool at first but then I realize Treyarch did a lazy job. Most of the body and helmets are the same theme color save for a few. You also can't fully customize your character look like in Rainbow Six Vegas. I really like customization, it too bad so few games ever put effort into it.

As far as wall-running, jet-boosting, and sliding it add a whole new aspect to the game to get used to. I never know when to properly use it and when not to. I do like the map design, very beautiful, but also very small. It feel more like an arena combat than Modern Warfare games.

I know I'm asking a comparison from two different companies but MW is my only IW game and black ops 3 is my only Treyarch game.

Thanks

Well, it's COD so gunplay and such feels pretty much arcady like all other COD games. It's made by Treyarch so it has more of the Black ops feel than the IW produced MW games.
The game is a bit quicker with regards to player movement now, but the maps don't have the crazy verticalness of say.. AW.
There are different specilist that you have to select now each one with a different offensive and defensive ability. Which I think is sort of a good concept for the casual that can never get to offensive killstreaks. At least they have the spec ability to look forward to.

Since black ops 2, the Treyarch games are a lot harder to camp in than the MW games. That's for sure. Maps have less choke points, and overall player movement make it really difficult for those that want to play "strategically", but I think there's alot of strategy involved with how to move, flank, and position yourself still. The maps aren't completely with out choke points though. There's some good ones in maps like Hunted and Infection, but a camper is never completely safe in the game though. Also, no tube attachment and no claymore/bouncing betty.
