Hi. Quick newbie-type question. As you probably know, the stock fans that come with the TT Tsunami do not have red/black wires on the 3 pin connection. Only the yellow wire is on that connector. The power is handled entirely from the 4 pin molex connector. This poses a little problem, because I have bought a CM Aerogate III fan controller, but since all the channels on the Aerogate use a 3 pin connection, the controller cannot manipulate the fan voltage.

Now I suppose I can buy 2 new 120mm fans from Antec, since the stock fans on TT are not that good anyway...but...well...I just don't feel like doing that this month. I am wondering...is it possible to rip the red + black wires out of the 4 pin molex and "snap" them into the 3 pin connector?

Hi, I have the same Thermaltake Tsunami Dream Tower and have had the same problem. I 'solved' it like you said. As you said, Thermaltake sticked the ground wire and the 12v wire of the fans into a molex connector while the rpm monitor connector (yellow) has a seperate standard fan connector. Very convenient TT :disgust:

I wanted to control the fans through my motherboard with Speedfan so I need standard fan connectors for that like you. I snapped the power wires out of the molex with a small screwdriver (push the hooks in) and somehow put them in the rpm fan connector (make sure you connect + and - correctly) and fastened them with tape. :D

First I bought empty fan connectors but that did not go very well as you have to solder them somehow. I may do it more neat some day with this method.

It's not a very elegant solution, but it works.

I just purchased a Vantec Multi Fan Controller for my Tsunami (i got the NXP-305 version with an included light controller). It uses adapters to get from the 4 pin molex to the smaller plug in on the unit.

Works like a charm. Easy setup. Very happy with it.
