System Specs:
E4400 Core 2 Duo
Gigabyte P35 DS3
4 GB DR2 800
Seagate 7200.10 500GB
Maxtor 250GB
I have a lot of programs that load on start up. I would like the PC to be ready sooner. I would also like programs in general to load faster... not that they are extremely slow right now.
Provided money is not an issue, would I get the speed and snappiness I am searching for with a Raptor? I understand the new 1TB drives (Hitachi) are supposed to be as fast, but I have a sneaking suspicion that they are faster at general transfer and yet not at PC start up and overall snappiness.
I have seen the benchmarks but it still seems as if there may be something that cannot be measured quantitatively.
I understand that raptors are old tech. But they seem to have a convincing following.
Opinions on this?
Above all, I would like a fast boot drive. I wouldn't mind getting a 1TB hitachi if it really is as quick as the raptor and adds the "X factor" to the hard drive performance.
