1 - What are "talking points" exactly? To be more specific, what are DNC "Talking Points"? I've been accussed of using them and I have no idea what they are, assuming they exsist where can I get them?

2 - What is is a "DU-lite"?

3 - Is there something that everyone on the board can agree on with the current administration? Could we all agree that Bush has done poor job with his public speaking skills?

4 - What's your overall opinion of those that are more liberal in their views, are they simply just misguided? If so, why? How have they come to be misguided? How do you know if you're not the one who is misguided?

5 - What is the "liberal media" who consists of the liberal media? Is it a bad thing? If so why?

1. http://dailykos.com/ is about the closest thing I can think of for mainstream democrat daily talking points.

2. DU-lite is saying this place is a watered down version of http://www.democraticunderground.com/ which is laughabe becasue DU allows no right wing trolls at all so as to keep discussion going -this place is a good example of how both sides in a open forum usually deterioriates into pissing matches and name calling by the most passionate posters from both sides.

The rest would be better answered by conservatives, it's pretty pointless asking them what they think the idealogy is of the left though, it's asking for flame wars.

Wrong about what? Why are they wrong? Why do they think they're right?

I guess this isn't the place to dwell in the minds of conservative voters.

Well, it's not that simple. You have a lot of different liberals and a lot of different issues. You have a million contexts, but I'll generalize to give a broad answer.

I think some liberals have just been socialized that way, growing up in a certain environment. These may be what you might call sheep, because it's all they really know and they mainly regurgitate.

But I also think there's a deeper cause, especially among liberal intellectuals. Their views are derived from metaphysical assumptions (that they are aware of or not) that are themselves derived mainly from psychological factors. So there you have it: I (generally speaking) believe that a person's psychological state predisposes that person to view man and the universe a certain way, which then leads to a "liberal" interpretation of socio-political events.

1) Being anti-Bush without having the ability to even admit some of his strengths, or anything he has done positively. Also blame Bush and Republicans for things unrelated to their jurisdiction or scope.

2) No clue

3) Yes, but I don't vote based on speaking skills, the small similarities in thinking fall be the wayside for more important issues that need to be discussed. People should keep open minds when discussing...

4) Misguided yes, as a lot of their views are inconsistent; lack of logic is sometimes a good phrase, but this can be applied to hardcore tradtional conservatives.

5) Moore, yes, unreasonable arguments, divides the country with incorrect facts and has misguided ulterior motives.

6) Extremism, lack of an open mind, unthoughtout points, lack of practical solutions to real life problems.

I think part of the problem lies in our predefined definitions of liberal and conservative.. I would venture to say that most people (with the exception of people like Conjur or Zendari) are both liberal and conservative in thought... That we each have conflicting views on social issues, some of us may not care if two gay people get married but may get upset if the government spends too much money on social programs. Some of us support the military and the war in Iraq but detest Bush for his social policies.. Issue by issue there is a myriad of opinions. Political affiliations are often the result of social ties and ethnic/family histories, and do not always represent where most people stand.

That is why a split government is the best form of government, the checks and balances normally give us balanced social/international policy. Obstructionist and right/left wingers hate those concepts of moderation and restraint because they are so focused on pushing only their agendas, but in my opinion, they have done nothing but harm to this country.
