questions about student loans

1. If you were to go to a community college and then transfer to a 4 year, would the grace period start after you graduate from the 2 year college?

2. If college starts in Sept, is it to late to apply for a loan, or is it never too late?

3. How much can I expect to get from a student loan? Is it as much as I need to pay for tuition without going over their limit?

Thank You for your time.

2. i applied for a student loan in august one year, and still got it. so i would think september would be okay too... although, the earlier the better.

1. there is a form you can fill out... as long as you're in school at least part time, you don't have to pay
(this is for gov'ment subsidized loan)

2. it's never too late, but you might not get it for that term... maybe next semester.

3. varies. mine covered tuition and books plus other minor expenses.

1. As long as you are continuously enrolled at least half time, the grace period doesn't start and you don't have to pay.

2. never too late. i've applied in August as well and been fine

3. The usually have a limit per bank. I used wells fargo and usually just figured what i was going to need, and added a couple hundred dollars onto it and got it. depends on how much debt you want to accumulate. (make sure you figure in room and board, books and the like). BUT you will only get so much per year, and that amount goes up as you get further into school. i.e. Freshman year you only getting a little bit, sophmore year it goes up some...and so on.

he shouldn't need to fill out a form until he transfers schools. and it is for unsubsidized as well.

another question....does the interest start to build up while in college, or does it start after the grace period?
