Gobadgrs - did the guy contact you via AT, or did he do it through email? And how long has he been registered?

He PMed me here on the forums... hes been a member since jan 2003 with about 4000 posts....

There are surely other folks that would be willing to help you out.

As for the discrepancies, I've got a few myself.

1 - I don't include my real, full name in my AT profile.
2 - My heatware account is under Hoss, not Hossenfeffer
3 - um, something else

If you really want the guy to buy it, take a look at his heatware evals and contact some of the other folks he's done trades with. They will help you verify addresses and such and help keep everything kosher. Myself or other traders would likely be happy to help with that as well.

You have to understand with all of the trolling that has been happening in the fs/ft boards, that heatware is used as a kind of re-assurance that the deal will go off without a hitch.

I had to ship first for the first few trades I did. Did I like it, no...but i understood why.

If a person with no heatware/references/trusted member vouching does not want to ship first when I am looking to buy, I just look elsewhere.

It's my first time selling something. Is it normal for new sellers to be asked to ship the item first? The buyer wants me to ship him the item and then he will send me a money order... His heat is 33-0-0.

Just curious.

Edit: The Heat email address, and the address in his AT profile are different, as well as the ship to addresse, and the name in this guys AT profile. He told me he didn't want to put his real name in the profile, but it sounds fishy to me. What do you all think?

*Sigh* I guess I'll have to keep looking for someone who wants my KVM switch with all the cables.

sounds fishy...my take is that person buying should send payment first...then goods gets shipped. It isn't a pissing contest to see who has the biggest heatware.
