There are .22 Magnum rounds as well (have an 8 shot Mag revolver that's a blast to shoot).
It's just a bit more than firing a BB gun as far as kick goes. I'm not a big guy, but I move more from pulling the trigger back than from the actual recoil, there's just nothing to them. Still dangerous without a back drop as they can go a mile or so (no idea, but it's a long way and something to remember since they seem so weak).
Last set of ammo I bought for a .22 was regular rimfire .22 Hornaday brand. 500 rounds for $9.99. Super cheap.
