I have the opportunity to latch onto several older hp servers for use at home. We have no use for them here and I want to make a couple linux boxes out of them. There is a LM 5/60, LM 5/90, and two LC 5/100's. Are these even worth putting the client on? I am already running 4 pc's in the 450-700 range. Let me know if I should bother with it please.

What kind of keys/second can I expect out of these. My current machines get between 1.2 and 1.7.

Best way is to do it, and see - you might be surprised.
I have a HDD dead Ppro 180 - I put Klinux on it, and thought it might do 300 Kkeys/sec
It's a solid 504. Not impressive, but it keeps on chugging 24x7
