Just got the a 750g drive for my new build (samsung spinpoint f1 750g). I was wondering how I should set up the partitions to get the best performance. I've read up, and it seems setting up a few partitions, one for the OS and a few necessary programs, one for games, and one for other data (music, photos, videos, etc) would be ideal.

Does it matter where each partition goes on the HDD? And does the location of the pagefile effect the performance? Like do I want the pagefile on the same drive as the OS?

one for apps and os, other for media. there's no benefit in have more partitions than you need. There's no benefit of storing the game installations on separate partitions because many of them have game save files somewhere else ... it is futile
