Questions about Intel NIC driver settings

I've been looking long and hard for some information regarding the settings for my network card (Intel Pro100+ Management), and I wondered if anyone here could shed some light on what these settings do:

Adaptive Inter-Frame Spacing
Adaptive Transmit Threshold
Coalesce Buffers
PCI Bus Eficiency
Transmit Control Blocks

(All of them except for PCI Bus Efficiency are set to numerical values)

Thanks

The only one I can remember is PCI Bus Efficiency. Set this to yes if you want to NIC to be conservative with the PCI bus bandwidth. Set it to No if you want iit to hog the bus and get max throughput.

Does anyone else know anything about these settings? I'm on a network with lots of congestion and I remember reading somewhere that I ought to change something to compensate.

Download the NIC driver set for your board from Intel. The download set has a "readme" doc that explains all of the settings and suggestions for how they should be set.

Good Luck
