Get the Sylvania XtraVision.

The pair installed from the factory were optimized for logevity so they're less likely to have to replace them under warranty.

XtraVision won't last as long, but it performs better. I'm not an advocate of SilverStar and other coated, "super white" bulbs.

I was told by the Sylvania people that the XtraVisions offer better visability and last longer. I drive with my lights on all the time and the Silverstars only last about 6 months. The XtraVisions are almost 2 years old in my other car and they are better at mid & close range. the Xtra's are slightly yellower than the white Silver's.

They do last longer compared to super white bulbs. Just not as long as "long life" that are installed from the factory or you can buy as "long life".

Obviously silverstars are whiter, because it's got tinted glass. It doesn't make it whiter by addition. It makes it whiter by subtraction of yellowish light, thus reducing total output.

Is the yllowing of the lenses only on the exterior or does it go all the way through? If the latter, I don't see how polishing would help.
