Questions about FM Transmitters

first off, does anyone have one they can recommend for car use? don't have an ipod, so i dn't think i can use the itrip... do the hobby store ones work for this purpose? seems like they wouldbe stronger than the stuff sold at best buy or something.

secondly, will they arrest you or something if you mod a fm transmitter to be more powerful than the FCC allows?

The best by far is the CenDyne Gruv-X (available at Buy.com for around $25). It's got twice as much range as most, lasts 20 hrs on a single AAA battery, it's tiny, and (the biggest plus) you can choose ANY frequency on the FM band, not just three or four preselected ones. I've used it for about 5 months now and all my friends got one because they liked mine so much. I can't recommend it enough 🙂

Go to Ramsey Electronics and get their FM-25 or the MP3 player that they base off of their FM-25. Then you'll need the "Stereo transmitter companion". WIth those two units, FM will be crystal clear. Of course it's cheaper just to get an in dash MP3 player.

I bought a 20 dollar one from tiger direct. It was strong enough to overwrite a radio station that was based maybe 1 mile away on all the cars around me 🙂 That was fun to play with

Cendye is out of business, so I doubt their products are going to be carried anymore. It was probably a rebranded _______?

It is rebranded (I've seen the other version somewhere, but don't remember it's name).
