questions about Dual Lan

Hi,
read an article about Dual Lan, and i have some questions about setting it up...

my motherboard has Gigabit Lan 10/100/1000(asus p4p800e-d)

if i want to make it dual Lan, do i have to get another Gigabit Lan card? or just a cheap 10/100 card will do?

I am using Winxp pro(i will "bridge" it afterwards)

if i use dual Lan, what is the most performance gain that i can see?

and what my other PC have to have? will my other PC(still using 10/100) take any advantages if i transfer files from the Dual Lan PC to this one (only one 10/100 lan card)

thanks

You can not simply combine NICs to get more Bandwidth, using None server OS.

On server OSs it can be used for load balancing and similar tasks that involved high traffic Network.

:sun:

but the art. said just bridge it in network connection under winxp, then it will be fine after 10 seconds of setup.

don't believe everything you read.

The possibility of increasing thruput by using two nics takes special cirumstances which generally can't be achieved with home networks.
