Questions about Digital Boston Acoustics 7500

I have the opportunity to get these speakers for a nice price. The catch is that the two front speakers are slightly "out of whack". The seller claims they can be replaced, but can I replace them with any kind of speakers or does it have to be BA speakers? Also wondering if my SB Live Value card will be a good match with these speakers?

All speaker sets (pairs/4-speaker/etc) are voice matched. That means they have the same drivers or/and they are crossed-over at the same frequencies. Also that they have the same senisitivity. Replacing the two fronts of the BA set with any speakers other than the exact same thing will result in crappy sound as well as possbile damage to the amp. Don't do it. If a deal seems too good to be true, it usually is. Save up for another couple of weeks and get a brand new set. "Out of whack" yeah, probably blown to bits! I say BAH!

It's possible I might make even more of a fool of myself, by asking this but can I replace them with the same sort of BA speakers, without having any problems. And if so do BA sell these speakers by themselves?

There's no such thing as a stupid or dumb question, if you don't know the answer, right? Right. You could replace them with the same speakers, yes. I'm sure Boston would be happy to sell you "a replacement" but at what cost? It might be better for you to just buy a whole system brand new. Being that the fronts "have issues" already; it's probably due to abuse. You don't want gear that's been beat-on. Good luck.

i wouldnt pay for two defective speakers, save ur money and get a set of BA4800's (about 140 on PW), they are fine speakers i have a set they are almost identical in sound quality and BA4800's give much more bang for buck

you can check out reviews here

if you want to spend more than the only thing i could recommend is the Klipsch Promedia 4.1
