Now that I have SLI'd 7800GT and an AMD X2 3800+ I think my system can handle a Dell 2405FPW monitor. My questions are.

1. How do games look if not played at the native resolution?
2. How do games play if it is not able to do widescreen? Does the monitor just do a 4:3 ratio with the games running at 4:3 in the middle of the screen or does it stretch across the whole screen?
3. I use and external TV tuner for connecting my game consoles. My current LCD tops out at 1280x1024 and the tuner tops out at the res. Will that look like crap on this screen?

Thanks, Ive been dying to get this monitor and now that its back down to $999 at Dell today I am thinking of getting one. :)

1. they look stretched or game may not play at all.
2. at fixed mode then it stretches it.
3. yes.

these things did not deter me from buying it....i just had to look into playing games that support or can be hacked to play in wide screen or watch content in hd widescreen.

You can hook up your consoles via the dedicated inputs....that should look pretty good.

2405 $999? u gotta be kidding me. I saw it for 650 a month ago. I would get teh NEC if I had 999 to spend.

new ways

1 Look just fine.
2 Stretched but I couldnt tell teh difference on my 2405 [when I had it]
3 Looks fine. The TV tuners somewhow manage to make it look normal. dont ask me how.

EDIT

60 off code at Dell WVL6T6W?5JTKWJ

Get another 25 % off from ebay and u should get it for less than 700
