does anyone know where i could get a key to plug a 600 MHz durron into one of these two mother boards at overstock.com?

MSI Super 7 - http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2.cgi
Andara Technologies AMD K7 - http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2.cgi

Which of the two motherboards would you all recomend. I am fairly knew at this but i have seen a lot of posts about overclocking a celeron setup and i was hoping i could do the same thing with the durron chip i just bought.

You may need to do more homework. As far as Duron overclcking goes, check out peoples sigs like mine...... And don't buy a super7 board for that duron!!!😛

Where is a good place to start doing homework? Are there even slot keys for a duron processor like there are for celerons? Where is a good place to look for a socket A motherboard or the Abit KT7 or the Asus A7V in particular? thanks for the advice.

How about at the site you're at? abit k7t review and asus a7v review also do a search here in the forums for these two motherboards.

No, there are no slotkets yet for the slota-to-socket a, but there is one in the making, sorry I don't have a link for that. If you are buying a new mobo there is no reason to buy a slota board, now is it?
