Questiong for 1and1 users.

All of you that sign up for a free 1and1 domain account last year. has anyone had to renew your domain name yet. a friend of mine got a letter that he had to renew and he had to pay 40 dollars. anyone else get that, also its not even a year yet and he is getting that.

just use namecheap. Its less than $9 a year.

yeah but we all paid 5 bucks in the beggining. was there a statement when we all sign up that after first year it would be 40 dollars, thats way extreme for domain name registration.

I didnt use them for domain registration, just hosting.

maybe you should edit your title for a little more help.

funny thing is he did, he sent a check for 40 bucks and then they have email him saying they got the money but now they need to transfer the domain and they need the EEP key, its all messed up, he doesnt even know what happen.

BEFORE your domain expires go to a better domain registrar (GoDaddy.com or NameCheap.com) and select DOMAIN TRANSFER.

Ok just got to the bottom of this issue. My Friends dad got a letter from another company to renew his name with them and he is not a computer person so he did. And thats where the problem is. oooppss
