Just out of curiosity, how long could you have an athlon/durron socket a chip booted for, without a heatsink/fan, before it fried?

about as long as it would take you to say "Ohh s**t".
AMD says 8-10 seconds.

Was just wondering. Having to take the heatsink/fan off while testing cpus/mbs is a pita(pain in the ass). Was wondering if they would last long enough to boot to post to speed the procedure. 5 secs is far from enough time so i guess continuing with the pita method will continue =/

I fried a 1.13 because my dumbarse forgot to latch down the HSF. It took 15 seconds to bake.
I cried.
