Working on a great opportunity to pick up some new TA members and assimilations.

A few of my friends and I are going to try to set up LAN party. We are needing hardware! 3 24 port 10/100 switches mainly. We are all poor college students and really can't afford to buy them, so we want to rent them or better yet borrow them for the first time to see how it goes. But anyway we need the switches to even get this thing off the ground. So, any ideas, advice and encouragement would be greatly apperciated. By the way I'm located in Crete, NE or about 20mi SW of Lincoln.

It would be pretty sweet if this gets going to get some TA members there, and have a mini gathering.

Sorry I can't help ya on the switches.

When are you planning on having the LAN party? How many people are going to be there?

2 or 3 24 port switches can support a lot of people. 🙂

CetiAlphaV, WHOA! A bit OT myself, but I stayed at the Super 8 hotel in Crete, NE a couple months ago. And I'm going to be in Lincoln for a visit later this month. Talk about a small world. 🙂 I can't quite help with the switch situation, but I hope all goes well!

I'm already committed to the LAN party in MN in May, so I doubt I'd be able to get to the one in NE. I'll keep my eyes open for any switches that you could borrow though. 🙂
 
No kidding it's a small world. I actually go to college in crete. But anyway we are planning on having the party on the 5th of May, and we are going to have enough spots and RSVP for about 100 people. We probably won't even get near that many people, but you never know. That is why we need so many switches.
 
I live just outside of Lincoln and I used to live in Crete about 10-12 years ago. If I had any switches I would let you use them, but I don't 🙁.
 
D'oh! I'm leaving Lincoln on May 4. Would have been interesting though driving 900 miles, and then attend a LAN party. 🙂
