Question: What is Commit CHarge/ PF Usage?

All i know is even though my memory (512 ddr 2100) in winxp is free when this thing called commit charge or pg usage is close to the max somehwere like 808 megs or something..... my computer gets slow.... and i end up either waiting 2 days when it mysteriously dispears or just reboot when i need the speed right away...
what is this?

pf would be page file. Increase it's maximum size if it's filling up (though I don't know why you'd be hitting 800 megs! ) PF usage is what's being used by the OS, commit charge is the amount of the pagefile being used by everything.
