How is ur ibm gxp 60 identified during bootup and in windows control panel. Mine is listed as IC35xxxxx (some code here for the xxx) in both the bios and windows control panel . I believe the IC35xxx is the model number of the drive but I remeber that the control panel used to display it as IBM something instead of that cryptic code, but i could be mistaken so I asking anybody that has this drive to verify that for me.
Another reason why I asked this is because i am experiecing random reboots with my computer now whenver i play a 3d game for an extended amount of time (1-3 times in 2-5 hours). It will just briefly flash a blue screen for maybe less than a sec and the reboot and then i noticed that it would take a little longer to recognize my hardrive during bootup (it even sounds like my hard drive was off and had to be turned on again). At first i though my motherboard was buggy so i replaced it with an epox kt266a board along with a new processor, but the problem still persist. I don't think its a power supply issue either becasuse i use one of the latest antec 300 watt p4 ready power supply that came with my antec 1030b case. So now i am thinking that it could my hard drive.
System config:
athlon xp 1600 (1400mhz) cooled by sk6 + quiet fan (temp is always below 41c and system temp below 31c)
Epox kt266a board
2*256 crucial ddr
IBM 60 GXP 40gb Drive
santa cruz
msi geforce 2 pro
antec 1030b case and antec ps
