Question to the runners here.

I'm getting to the point where I'm starting to run anywhere from 1 to 2 miles a day (have been for about a week now) and I don't know a whole lot about it, I'm probably one of the laziest people you'll ever meet 😛 But I remember talking to this girl who graduated high school last year one time(almost made state champion in cross country), one of my friends asked her if she'd ever tried Bawls and she said no, and asked if it was a carbonated or not. He told her it was and she said she couldn't drink it. It seems like I remember someone else saying something like this, but are carbonated drinks not good to drink if you run? I know they're probably not good for you in general but I'm just curious.. I know you should drink lots of water and probably Gatorade or Powerade (right? 😛) but should I stop drinking carbonated drinks altogether?

You'll get cramps if you drink it too close to running. It also is non-conductive to filling your blood with oxygen. The C02 fights for it and you get winded easier.

At least that's what my cross country coach told me and that's how I usually felt if I drank carbonated stuff before running.

To dumbshits like you, yes, it is.

To answer the OP's question... carbonated drinks, especially those with caffeine, negatively affect your muscles (I don't know the exact effects, so I don't want to say anything that could be wrong), but I know this much.

lol you call me a name and then can explain your self later in your post... that funny stuff. It really doesn't matter if he is only running a couple miles a day thats pretty low stress on the body. The most important part is the getting liquid. Works for me too I like beer too much to give it up.

i don't drink carbonted drinks before i run cuz they give me gas and makes it uncorftable to run hehe, but i drink up 20 mins before i run, i also take creatine when i run, helps stop lactic acid build up, and helps keep my muscles from breaking down too much, cuz i run 4-5 miles a day
