Question/s about my mobo

I just purchased this mobo. The question I have is about the molex connector right above the first pci-expressx1 slot. It's listed as the "auxillary graphics power" connector. So...what would this be used for exactly? Video cards without 6-pin pci-x connections yet still need a little extra juice? Or perhaps providing additional power to cards for the purpose of overclocking? I have a 9600GT, would it be safe to hook up 6pin power and this one as well? Thanks for any info.

From p 16 on mobo manual, as you stated, it's an auxillary connector for graphics cards, providing "exclusive" power.

I notice they put that connector on some higher end boards that do crossfire....so maybe they just left it there, even though it is unlikely you would need it for *most* graphics cards. Looks like a 9600GT can pull 95w, more than the 75W available from the PCIe connector itself, so, that extra molex connector is not a bad idea.
