Hey guys I will be going to my first wedding in a few weeks. The groom is a grade school friend of mien. What should I bring as a gift? So far here are my thoughts:
1) Cash (a bit impersonal).
2) Weightlifting shoes (i dont think its a couple's present but i know my friend is too cheap to get them but would absolutely LOVE them...is that bad? or is a happy husband a good one? 😉?
3) Random houseware...class for couple. (meh sounds boring and i'm not sure if they would like them)

So what do you guys think? Do you think it's bad if I go with option 2?

None of the above.

Ask where they're registered. The store will give you a list of things they want; get something on the list or a gift card.

ASKING for cash is tacky. Giving cash is actually pretty thoughtful, since anyone putting together a wedding can usually use the financial lift.

Do not give the shoes; that is not a wedding gift. You should be giving them something to help them start their life together.

Cash is the best gift.

If you want something they will remember check the registry for something special....a lot of things i forget who gave, but other things i always remember, its not always the expensive things that i remember either, just things that are more unique i guess
