Question regarding double jointed thumbs

Both my thumbs are double jointed and I am forced to pop my thumb knuckles at least 20 times a day. I have done this for at least half my life and it isn't something that I try to do, but rather a necessity to using them.

I feel no pain in using them or in popping them, but I'm curious if this will lead to some form of arthritis.

Is there a doctor in the house?
