my friend has cable modem and is having problems.
they want to share it, but it gives the error: conflictnig ip addresse. only one can be on at the same time.
there was two on the same hub before, but one of the hubs is now hubed to another hub. and the 2 computers on the last hub can only be on if the other is off.

hmm

The only reason your friend is having conflicting ip's is because there is a duplicate ip present in the network. Only one ip with a unique number can exist within the network. Check and make sure that no ip's are the same. For example your main computer might have 24.XX.XX.XXX for the cable modem and 192.168.0.1 for the internal network. Say another computer in the network also has 192.168.0.1 and this can cause the error to occur. Leave 192.168.0.1 on the main computer with the cable modem and change the ip on the other computer(s).
