A friend upgraded from Win2K to WinXP. He always logged on without a password. I recently created a user account (on WinXP) for his wife. However, when the system boots up it goes right into his account. He has to log off before you see the screen with the option to choose his account or the wife's.

Originally I set up both accounts as Administrators. I've now changed it so that he's the Administrator and she's a limited user. I also created a password for his account but WinXP still boots into his account. (Without need of a password.) Where is the setting that needs to be changed so that it will boot to the screen giving them a choice of which account to use?

RockyRaccoon516: Thanks for the link to a grand tutorial re: how to set the system up like it already is.

I guess I wasn't clear. I don't want to automatically log on to Windows. I want just the opposite.

Nope. That doesn't do it.

To be more specific:

The welcome screen is not available.
Guest account access is turned on.
Both user accounts have passwords.
One user account has administrator rights, the other is a limited user.

Windows still boots straight into his account. :disgust:
