I was at a huge flea market yesterday & came across this booth selling "NEW" dvd's for $10. each or 3 for $27.
They are set up there every week & have a store that they also run .

Just wondering how they can make any money doing this . Titles included for example were ............ What Lies Beneath , Disney's Peter Pan , Unforgiven , The Net , Miss Congeniality & 100's of other titles which would run you $15. - $20.+ if purchased at Best Buy , Wal-Mart etc.

These were new/sealed , not used & not copies .
My girlfriend & I bought 9 because they were such a good deal . I've been buying dvd's for around $10. off the internet but not anymore **LOL**

Do they purchase in bulk or what ? ......................

They're not bootlegs, are they? That's big business in singapore/china/asian countries. I regularly see the entire James Bond collection on Ebay for $100 (a steal considering that each individual offical DVD collection of 7 movies is that much), but they're bootlegs ("Has chinese subtitles which can be switched off"). $10 a movie for bootlegs sounds about right. I remember seeing something on Dateline about bootleg CDs being very popular at flea markets, so I imagien the same would hold true for DVDs.

Although you can't get the most recent movies, you can get many DVDs for around $10 each through columbia house. Check out the DVD Talk.com forums for info

You probably wouldnt know theyre bootlegs unless you looked really close. I had a copy of aliens that I swore was a real DVD (after all it is just a digital copy), but there were a few non-working special features. So I tried to rip it and it wasnt even encrypted!

Buying bootleg DVDs isnt like buying bootleg tapes. Its a perfect copy. Now if I could only find LOTR on DVD with DD 5.1....

I give them credit it they bootlegged the Godfather Trilogy then, because it came with original packing, as seen here
