Question on the FREE Cisco books...

Have any of you actually received calls from Cisco?

When submitting the request for all those FREE books, I always put that I was a student belonging to no organization.

Yet, today I actually got a phone call from a guy at Cisco trying to sell me some switching hardware.

I guess it would've been a Hot Deal had I been looking to get screwed on some overpriced networking equipment!

Just thought I'd check and see...

Got a couple of calls, and received 5-6 books. My company is actually looking into Cisco products, so it's no big deal

Gotten all the ones I sign up + other free things... invited to goto conferences, etc, shows, but that's following a few phone calls from their sales people...

L3-enabled ATM Solutions


The L3 book was the most recent request, so I kinda doubt the others will show.

I like these books....Read most of the Optical Net and am about halfway through the L3 bok...love networking.

I got a copy of the Network and Communication Glossary, or whatever it was called, haven't had a phone call yet tho... except maybe for a voicemail someone left a while back, but I never really listened to it.

I have a whole library of Cisco stuff. Even if they call, I wouldn't be bothered. They are a really respectable company and not some dumb and lam Telemarketer.

Yah, got a bunch of the books ... but my company is interested in Cisco so it don't matter ... they call away anyways.
