Question on the Encore 12X pc-dvd hardware card

I have a Mitusbishi 2040u monitor that has dual inputs(Dsub, BNC)-I know that the hardware card has a pass-through cable that, when hooked up to your video card, degrades the image of the video card. I currently have my video card hooked up to the BNC conectors-can I not use the pass-through cable and connect directly to the dsub connector on my monitor-I can switch between the 2 inputs with a button on my monitor.
 
i think he meant like "full screen mode" or something

the dual input thing has been done before by others.
 
Hmmm the only problem there is I don't think the control panel uses overlay, I think it's just a window so it wouldn't show up without the passthrough.
