does anyone know if I can use the free priority mail boxes from USPS to ship Media mail?

priority mail costs 3.85 and media mail costs 1.42. but priority mail boxes need the priority mail address labeled on it. so I'm guessing this means only priority mail labels and stamps are allowed on the box. or else they won't ship? does anyone have any experience with USPS priority mail and what not to do?

thanks

I am not sure, I hate shipping USPS, but most likely they go off the barcode like everyone else does. Ship it in fedex envelope and it will still get there.

As for using the priority boxes to ship media rate, I don't think you can do that.

As for labels and what not on the priority boxes, I have used generic store bought labels before, along with the priority labels, though I usually just write the address right on the box, or I write it on a piece of paper and tape it to the box.

priority boxes will b shipped via priority rates... starting at $3.85

if you try to turn the box inside out and mark it as media - they have the inside marked USPS so they know..

if you wrap it in a brown paper bag, they will also most likely know its one of their free boxes and charge you priority rates

im guessing your shipping a book/cd/dvd/vhs tape... just use a padded envelope - costs like 69 cents from staples

No, you can't. It's also illegal to ship media mail if the content is not media. AS far as the priority mail logos, put opaque tape over them.

well it IS media. it's a CD. but I was just wondering if I can pay just 1.42 for media mail to ship them in priority boxes. and isn't putting opaque tape over them illegal?

I have a bubble-cushioned mailer too, but I'm afraid it'll damage the CD or something. and i don't know if that'll work. will it?
