I am going to be upgrading an ancient desktop that has been sitting idle for a while. The machine once upgraded will be used for internet, music, office apps and some DVD veiwing. The most gaming done on it would be yahoo pool once in a while. I would like to use the existing case and power supply if possible. I have the Antec 1040BII
SOHO case, the big monster that came with the 400 watt smart power supply. I know it has a 20 pin power connector. All the motherboards today seem to require a 24 pin power connection. Is there a work around for me so I can use this power supply? I know it is a bit old but it has never once been anything but rock solid and the case is a tank. Any help on this would be very welcomed. Thank you in advance.

I ran into the same problem, and the new 24 pin connector was grooved so that it could be snapped off leaving the 20 pinner. Worked perfectly. No adapter needed.

I think he meant he has (will have)
mobo with 24 pin
PSU with 20 pin

NOT 20 pin mobo & 24 pin PSU
