Question on LCD Monitor

I'm thinking of getting a new LCD monitor and have a couple of questions:
1. What are the specs I need to look for if I'm using it for gaming?
2. Also, what do I look for in having the monitor be as viewable as possible from an angle?
Thanks
Gary

Refresh timing of 12-15 ms. Viewable angles are now almost the same which is basically 75-85 degress from the center left and right. Of course, the wider the better. You might want to google for reviews on lcd to be more informed.

I see some monitors that are reasonably priced and have a 8ms response time. Is that much better? In some cases they are even less than those with a higher response time.

Supposedly yes. But the problem is different manufacturers uses different way of measuring the refresh rates. So you might want to do some reasearch on reviews of a particular unit or brand you think you like. There's just too many selections and the best way to make a better judgement is to read more than a couple of reviews.

Algae, One more question for you, what size of lcd monitor do you want? Anyways, Get a better brand of lcd monitor such as Viewsonic, Nec, Dell, Samsung, BenQ, Sony, and Hyundai.

I think the refresh times are fudged for a lot of them. The Dell 2405 that I have is variously described as 16ms, 12ms, and 8ms in various places that I have seen. It sure as hell isn't 8ms, although it is fast enough.
