question on how to handle a registered sex offender

I checked out that website linked, the familywatchdog one. Interesting that there are no registered offenders in my neighborhood, but quite a few in the neighborhoods around me. Most of which were bad child molesters. Still, only one of them I saw was what I think a guy getting screwed from what I saw from his conviction. It happened when he was 13 and the girl was 12. He got convicted over indecency with a minor. WTF? He was probably playing show me yours and I'll show you mine and got caught doing it. Then is stuck as registered sex offender for the rest of his life. That is stupid. The ones where it shows them as an adult messing with a child I can understand the need for registration though.

Don't let the kid near his house? Just tell them not to go near that dude. Child molesters very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very... rarely molest random kids. They molest the kids they have access to.

You have more to fear from your relatives, priests, youth ministers, teachers, daycare workers, little league coaches, and the like than this guy.

My sister lived next to a child molester for years and he never touched my niece and nephew because she thought the couple was weird and didn't let them go over to that house. All the couple's foster children weren't so lucky...

I'm not saying forget about it, I never said that. I said he is no different then everyone else in your area. You need to warn your kids away from being alone with any adult you haven't personally vetted.

How well do you know that family down the street your kids play with? Is the father a child rapist who just hasn't been caught yet?

Or, make a big deal out of it and enjoy the stress.

So I was saying, don't live your life in fear. Tell the kids he's a bad man and to stay away, parent like normal, and your kids will be safe.

true. but this guy has been caught.

living in fear would be not allowing them to go out once he moved in. What i said was to show them who he his, what he did and tell them not to talk to him.

Yes i would keep a eye on him. again how is that living in fear? i tell them to look both ways across the street and not go in strangers houses.

It looks like there is one guy on the far side of my neighborhood who was convicted of child molestation in 2003. He has lived in the subdivision since 2000 or 2001, however.

Another interesting find was when I searched near the home I grew up in and I saw that one of my high school classmates is on the list for "sexual battery."

you are right the odds are low.

i don't get why people are hating on telling the kids NOT to go over to his house, TO let them know who and what he did. and telling them to stay the fuck away from him.

i gotta admit it amazes me.

Who do you have more to worry about.

The guy who you know was arrested and you told your kids to stay away from.

The parents of the friends your children spend the night with and hang out with.

One has access.

It's the ones who don't register that are the problem.

Oh, and go check out how many are already living in your neighborhood: http://www.familywatchdog.us/.

We had one move in last summer and the community went bat shit crazy over it, when there were already ~30 others living in the area that nobody seemed to care about.

And while were discussing the subject, remember that many of those "sex offenders" are 19 year old guys who had a 16 year old girl lie to them about her age. Thumbs down for zero tolerance.

The TS posted about someone inappropriate towards an 11 yr old. Why did you think your political stance regarding all sex offenders had any merit in this thread?

There's nothing wrong with telling your kids to avoid the guy. The problem with these sex offender registries, though, is that the neighbors often freak out because they think the ex-con is going to abduct and rape their kid, and then they harass them and try to force them to move. Thing is, the vast majority of child predators molest the kids that they know personally. There's no reason to believe that he's a threat to your children if they're just playing on the street.

So, do tell your kids to avoid the dude and his house. Don't threaten him, destroy his property, or attack him.

How old was he when it happened, and was she hot? :sneaky:

D: 😵

🙄

Seriously though, if he's paid his debt to society (prison time, etc.) and is complying with the law, you don't get to "handle" him - he's got as much of a right to be there as you do. So tell your kids not to hand around the dude, tell them why if you want, and then stfu and gbtw.

No he didn't, he's still breathing.

Big time this. You should have already gone through this with your kids regarding ANYONE who tries to be alone with them. I can't remember where I read it but your kids are far more likely to get abused by someone who is not (yet) on the list than by someone who is. Tell them to avoid him but use this a chance to emphasize the correct course of action when ANYONE tries something suspicious

If it bothers you a lot consider moving close to a school or other protected radius zone if the opportunity comes up

you are right. its so much better he forced one child to have sex/oral sex on someone else. we should all forget it.

fuck you.

as i said before
A) make sure you your children know to stay the fuck away from the sicko.
b) make sure they know what he looks like
c) make sure they stay away from the fucker
d) keep a eye on said fucker if out in public.

To be fair, with the sex offender laws in this country he could probably be convicted for "gross sexual imposition" for nothing more than having his grandkids in the pool at the same time if some stay at home mom peeking over the fence bitched enough about it.

why worry about him more? because he has a proven track record.

My friends and parents have never molested a kid that i know about. so again they have trust.

seems like a logical thing. shrug

oh i agree they need to be changed.

Trust is actually a pretty illogical thing.

I can only suggest that we need to change the laws then. Society has placed a debt on that crime, and apparently he paid it. If you don't like it, change the laws or use my other two options.

In the end, the guy as a right to live and he has to live somewhere. So either change the laws to just kill him or stop bitching about it.

I tried to save you the trouble, but I think you missed it:

When it comes to my kids, I don't care if I'm right or wrong in the public eye.

Given that there's no chance I can change the laws to what I feel is suitable for people like the sex offender in the OP, I have to resort to gift baskets and subtle warnings. I really don't care if I persuade you to agree with me, because it has no bearing on the safety of my children.

To those of you that posted with rational thoughts, thank you for the feedback.

To the morons who thought they could make lame jokes about trailer parks and such, stay classy San Diego.

This is a very nice development, not a trailer park.

I was looking for people who have already been through this - this is new for me, new for this community in fact, as the houses here were all built in the last 7 or 8 years.

I do agree that people tagged as 'sex offenders', when they were having sex with their BF/GF, are unfairly treated - but this guy at some point had improper sexual situations involving an 11 year old girl - that puts him in a different category IMO.

Society has placed a debt on that crime, and apparently he paid it.

Yes, he paid his debt to society, but given the extremely high recidivism rate for that type of crime, I think any parent would (and should) be very concerned for the safety of their kids around that guy. All of a sudden what seems like a perfectly safe neighborhood for kids to play in becomes a danger zone.

OP: you could always take the information from the website (picture, description etc), print a bunch of flyers and post them all over the neighborhood, on every tree or post. That way everyone is aware so they can keep an extra careful eye on the little ones.

You taught me a new word, thank you.

You clearly should put a big pedobear sticker on his mailbox to let everyone know. Although in reality make sure your kids are aware and know to stay away from him. If you have an HOA that sends out a monthly newsletter or something, make sure that this makes it in there.

1. Wait until early morning and enter his house through the backyard.
2. Place a fresh cut horse's head on his bed.
3. Leave.

You have a choice to make:

1) Decide that a man who does his time in prison has paid his debt and should be reformed (or he shouldn't be out of prison). You can't know this 100%, so you keep an eye on your kids (like you should be doing anyway, because you never know who is a sex offender. That guy you just saw 2 seconds ago could be a sex offender who has never been caught!)
2) Live in total fear, hide your kids, hide your wife, build a bunker, hell move out to the middle of nowhere with a no trespassing sign, homeschool, and collect guns.
3) The prison system cannot work, he will offend again. You have to kill him. I suggest starting a thread on the best way to quietly kill a man and hide the body.

I vote for 3, it would bring more lols.
4 burn his house to the ground at night.
Check the stats on recidivism and it should seem less bizarre.
Then what's bizarre is how short the time in jail is.

Presslove went to ped-effing-state we should listen to him.

I like the where you're going. Let's change the laws so that after prison they are confined to live in Offenderville. I'm sure there enough of them to make up a town.
