Hey,

I recently bought a p4 2.4C and a p4c800 motherboard. Ive had it running fine at 3.15 GHZ, but wont do more than 3.25 (wont load windows).

Its running fine and everything.. and doing great, but today I decided to install Asus Probe and I noticed my CPU temperature was around 35-37 degrees when doing nothing... but when running a few programs and a game the temperature goes up to 50 - 51 degrees.

I heat about people running theres in the 30s, so I am wondering if this is abnormally high or no... and if it is what are the side effects of running it like this and how should I fix it.

Thanks for your help,

Exactly... My temps on my P4B is around 35C idle, and 45C load. Even the 60's will not damage your cpu. It's in the mid to high 70's that can, but by the time your cpu gets that hot it throttles as in downclocks etc. No need to worry if it's in the mid 50's. I even heard that these 800FSB chips run a little hotter over the former P4B's.
