Are the features listed below software features that if i update the drivers on a 6800 they will have the same features?
Im more looking at the newer version of Cinefx4, Intellisample4

Im just trying to figure out if i should buy the newer released card or if the 6800 still
packs some punch

Basicly which would you get and why

NVIDIA SLI Ready
Full Microsoft DirectX 9.0 Shader Model 3.0 support
True high dynamic-range (HDR) lighting support

Firstly, a 7600GT will kill a 6800XT.

Secondly, the 7600GT is more efficent than the 6800XT in games. (Bit more efficent when HDR is activated, you also get TRAA.)

Thirdly pure video is fully functioning, and ultllises lower CPU usuage compared to its nearest competitor.

The 7600GT uses 128bit 256mb GDDR3 clocked at 700mhz(1400 effective).

The 6800XT uses 256bit 256mb DDR clocked at 600mhz.

So conclusion is that the 7600GT has mroe bandwidth (22.4gb/s) compared to the 6800XTs (19.2gb/s). So the XT having 256bit memory interface isnt really all that big of a deal since the 7600GT has more memory bandwidth than the XT even though its using 128bit.

As a comparision the 7600GT is faster than the 6800GS even at high res AA/AF scenarios and is much much faster than the X1600XT, sometimes being twice as fast. This also performs at equal with an X1800GTO. The 6800XT is in a whole new different league (low range)
