Question on DELL coupons and minimum price

The coupon code I entered is supposed to be on purchases > $1849.
I entered it on a system that is $1269 and it applied it and shows the discount.
What normally happens in this case. If I submit the order, would they cancel the order or try to charge the amount without the coupon?

they might but from my experience they wont care...they'll charge u the price u get at the end...and u can go merrily on ur way thinking u ripped them off* 😀

*when in all actuallity they are still making 300% profit

Hey, that's better than 600% profit they'd make at the regular price.
Is it common that coupon codes work even when the price is lower than what the coupon says it's good for? $500 off is a pretty good deal.

chances are the coupon is abiding by the rules...i mean if the base price falls under the offer/coupons terms usually its still good...even if u have multiples that take it under

It was probably $1269 because there was a previous coupon/deal on the system. When you added your coupon, it automatically overrides the current coupon. I dunno if that makes sense to you or if it's even the reason for your case but it's something at least 😀

Makes sense to me but it sucks. I was getting some decent codes from the "dellf elf" thing but it overides existing offers so it only makes stuff slightly cheaper than if I went with the regular offer.

That price was probably the already default discounted price. Look for the before-nocoupon-dell'sdefaulteddiscount-price.

Hmmmm.....I highly suggest using the dellf now that I look at it. It generated a 25% off a desktop of $1499 or more.

So a Dimensions 8400 w/ a 3.2E, 1gig of ram, 16X dual layer burner, and an X800XT would be $1332 instead of the $1576 with just the normal Dell offer. Not that bad.

Nope. I understand how the regular % or $ off discounts are listed and how when you enter a code and click the "apply coupon" button, it adds your coupon discount and removes the regular promotional discount. The 1269 is the regular price without any of their regular % off offers and there is nothing else in my cart. The coupon says $500 off selected Dimension systems over $1849. I went through checkout all the way to the screen where you submit the order. It shows something like.

Dimension 8400 $1269
coupon .... -$500

Total price : $769
