I was running cpu-z last night as the computer sat idle to see what it would show. I am confused to admit I was watching it change speed while sitting there. What I mean is on CPU, under Clocks (core #0), the core speed feild and multipler kept changing values while the computer sat their idle, just running core temp and cpu-z, as well as having avg, zone alarm, spy sweeper all sitting on task bar by the clock. Is this normal or do I have a problem? The temps sitting idle are not bad though, I was seeing between 37 and 42 degrees at load though when running a avg scan it would hit 65 degrees and go right back down. It was like it spiked and then went down. Is this normal? I am not familiar with the new processors as I have been using a p4 3 ghz for the last 5 years, but felt I needed to upgrade.
